Romeo A. Meunier

February 10, 1925 — January 17, 2006

Romeo A. Meunier, 80, of 563 Baldwinville Rd., Baldwinville, died peacefully Tuesday, January 17th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, following a long illness.

Born in Lowell, Vermont on February 10, 1925, he was the son of Noe and Bernadette (Boulais) Meunier.

He was a paint shop foreman employed by Simplex Time Recorder Co. of Gardner for 40 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, 4th degree Bishop Beaven Assembly Knights of Columbus of Templeton, American Legion Roger P. Warfield Post 373, V.F.W. Ovila Case Post 905 of Gardner, and the Otter River Sportsman Club. Mr. Meunier enjoyed gardening and performing community service work.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and received the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Rita M. (Cormier) Meunier of Baldwinville; 3 daughters, Susan B. Bronson and husband Robert of Templeton, Pauline M. Stewart and husband Alby of Otter River, Paulette M. Jaillet and husband Thomas of Templeton; a daughter-in-law, Marie Meunier of Baldwinville; 2 brothers, Roger Meunier and wife Doris of Templeton, Andrew Meunier of Gardner; 2 sisters, Jeanette French and husband John of Templeton, Claire Albee and husband Ronald of Gardner; 8 grandchildren, David and Tammy Bronson, Shonda and Carrie Stewart, Jennifer and Bradley Jaillet, Brian and Kelly Meunier; 5 great-grandchildren, Casey and Emily Caprio, Kati White, Henry Bronson and Kylie Jaillet; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Bruce J. Meunier of Baldwinville who died December 31, 2005, and 3 brothers, Rheo, George and Raymond Meunier.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 12:00 noon in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will be in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, January 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
