Roland Plourde

Roland J. Plourde, 61, of Gardner, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at home with the love of his family surrounding him. He was born in Fitchburg on January 19, 1951, the son of the late Louis Plourde Sr. and the late Marie (Belliveau) Plourde.
He is survived by his wife Niki (Babineau) Plourde of Gardner; two daughters, Wendy (Plourde) Smit and her husband Thomas of Boston, and Kimberly Plourde and her partner William Hunt of Leominster; four brothers, Richard (Sonny) Plourde, of Baldwinville, Robert Plourde and his wife Patricia of Gardner, Raymond Plourde of Gardner, and Rene Plourde and his wife Nancy of San Antonio, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Louis Plourde Jr. who died in 2010, and his sisters-in-law Joan Plourde who died in 1996, and Pauline Plourde who died in 2003.
In keeping with his wishes, his body will be donated to Harvard Medical School and Memorial Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A special thank you to Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and to the Hospice staff at the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association.
