Roger E René

Roger E. René, 70, of Worcester, died peacefully Monday, October 30, 2023, in Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Worcester, after a period of declining health. 

Born in Millbury on April 15, 1953, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Dickie) René. He graduated from Millbury High School with the Class of 1971. Roger had many years of loyal service to Wyman-Gordon, finishing his career as factory supervisor before retiring.

Roger was a dedicated volunteer firefighter for many years with the Town of Millbury. He enjoyed watching sports and Star Trek, as well as taking camping trips. Roger was a history buff and spent time participating in Civil War reenactments.  Some of Roger’s simple pleasures was going for a drive, and he loved a good cup of cold milk and some Oreos.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Kimberley Symonowicz, of Palmer; his son, Michael René and his wife Sarah of Gardner and their four children, Brandon, Leanne, Jackson and Logan René; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his two sisters, Jackie LaRose and Donna René.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester, MA.
