Roger L. Perreault Sr., 87, of 15 Sunrise Lane, Gardner, died suddenly in St. Vincent's Hospital, Worcester, Monday, September 26th following a recent illness, surrounded by his family.
Born in Gardner on March 13, 1924, he was the son of Louis and Edith (Rochleau) Perreault.
He was a shipper and receiver employed by the American Can Company of Fitchburg for 25 years until retiring in 1986.
Roger was a 1942 graduate of Gardner High School
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
Roger enjoyed watching television, especially sports, The Price is Right and Bonanza. He particularly liked working around the house and taking care of his family.
He was a World War II U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and served from 1942 to 1946.
His wife of 50 years, Dorothy H. (Dechert) Perreault died in 1997.
He leaves a son, Roger L. Perreault Jr. and his wife Donna of Jaffrey, NH; a daughter, Dorothy H. Lehto and her husband Dennis of Nashua, NH; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan Lehto, Kimberli Carrier, Shilo Perreault, Tanisha Rajaniemi and Wayne Perreault; 6 great-grandchildren, Jaden and Kyan Carrier, Ericka, Tara, Jessica and Samantha Pultorak; one niece, Carol Snell. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Snell.
A Graveside service from the Boucher Funeral Home, 110 Nichols St., Gardner, will be held Saturday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be held Saturday, October 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
