Roger E. Hebert

Roger E. Hebert, 75 of 165 Conant Street, Gardner died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in his residence surrounded by his family, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on October 16, 1935, he was the son of the late Edmond and Claire (Brouillet) Hebert.
Roger was an assembler employed by Simplex Time Recorder in Gardner and Westminster for 12 years, retiring in 1998. He was previously employed by Collier Keyworth in Gardner and Colonial Press in Clinton.
Roger graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1955. During his high school years, he was a member of the Gardner High School Wildcat Football Team, was named Co-Captain in 1954, and was a member of the All Star Team in 1953 and 1954. Roger was inducted into the Gardner High School Hall of Fame on April 26, 1996.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving from 1955 through 1959.
Roger was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner, and it's League of Sacred Heart Society.
Roger's hobbies included fishing, gardening and baking cookies. He loved football and was an avid New England Patriots fan.
He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Marie Geneva (LeBlanc) Hebert, who died September 26, 2004.
Roger leaves two sons, David R. Hebert and his wife Carolyn of Gardner and Dennis E. Hebert of Gardner; one daughter, Jane M. Ingman and her husband Michael of Winchendon; one brother, Raymond J. Hebert and his wife Anna of Tewksbury; one sister, Eleanor C. Babineau and her husband George of Gardner; seven grandchildren, Katie, Chad, Melissa and Elizabeth Hebert and Felicia, Steven and Jason Ingman; three great-grandchildren, Alana and Lillian Dupont and Colby Hebert; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Roger also leaves his good friend, Sophie Beauregard of Gardner.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, June 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440 or to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
