Roger Philip Byron, 52, of Gardner, died in an automobile accident in Royalston, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, on his way to go fishing at Tully Lake.

Born in Fitchburg on January 9th, 1972, he was the son of the late Roger Victor Byron and Sandra Kay (Sweeney) Kozlowski. He graduated from Narragansett Regional High School in 1990. He had worked for Davenport Paving the last few years.

"Raja" lived life with gusto. He loved the outdoors, animals, music and was the life of any party. He had visited just about every national park and loved hiking canyons. Roger was an excellent cook and enjoyed making fantastic meals for his grandmother who he cared for the last couple years of his and her life. 

Roger is survived by his daughter Aili Byron, a junior at UMass Amherst; his mother and stepfather Sandra and Kenneth Kozlowski of East Templeton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Philip Sweeney and Dolores (Moessinger) Sweeney Jaillet, and Victor and Helen Byron; a step-son Izaak Pellitier, and step-father "Seppy" Jaillet.

Services will be private. Roger will be laid to rest in Snyder Cemetery , Queen Shoals, WV, with his grandparents and ancestors. He loved Wild Wonderful West Virginia.
