Roger A. "Butch" Boucher, 77, of 116 Church St., Gardner died Thursday in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on January 4, 1927, he was the son of Pierre and Christine (Jaillet) Boucher.
He was a fork-lift operator last employed by S. Bent Bros. Co. of Gardner for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was a laborer previously employed by Francis L. Piermarocchi Construction Co. of Fitchburg.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
Mr. Boucher was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and received the World War II Victory Medal and the American Area Medal.
He leaves a son, Roger J. Boucher of Winchendon; 1 brother, Albert Boucher of Florida; 2 sisters, Medora Kelley and Helen Gallant both of Gardner; 2 grandchildren, a close friend, Jillian Abbott of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Alfred, Adelard and Ernest Boucher and 3 sisters, Anna Cormier, Ida Boucher and Alma LeBlanc.
Funeral services will be held Monday from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.
Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
