Roger J. Belliveau, 79, of 159 Leo Drive, Gardner died peacefully Wednesday, December16th, in his home where he had resided for the past 35 years, surrounded by his family.
Born in Gardner on April 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Alyre and Ernestine (Bourque) Belliveau.
Prior to retiring in 1991, Roger was a lab technician employed by the former Lilly Chemical Company of Baldwinville for 31 years.
Roger was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. He was also a member of the Gardner Lodge of Elks 1426.
Roger enjoyed gardening, doing lawn work, cross-country skiing, watching movies, and was a talented "handyman". He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
Roger leaves his wife of 59 years, Therese E. (Gallant) Belliveau of Gardner; two daughters, Denise T. Sarao and her husband Robert of Fitchburg and Karen M. Kuchta and her husband Peter of Winchendon; one brother, Albert Belliveau and his wife Viola of Leominster; two grandchildren David Cuff and Michael Sarao; two great-grandchildren, Kay Cuff and John McCaie; seven nieces and nephews and several cousins. A sister, Lorraine Daigle, predeceased him.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 26th at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
