Robert G."Woody" Woodward

Robert G. "Woodyi¿½ Woodward, 69, of 125 Connors St., Gardner died Wednesday, March 24th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner following an illness.
Born in Fitchburg on May 29, 1934, he was the son of Paul and Arlene (Gilson) Woodward.
He was last employed by Ikonen Machine Co. until retiring in 1997. He was also a truck driver previously employed by Aubuchon Hardware Co.
He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1952. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and enjoyed reading, fishing, taking field trips and collecting miniature trucks. He loved his grandchildren.
Mr. Woodward was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran.
He leaves 3 sons, Robert G. Woodward Jr. of Brimfield, Donald Bessette of Leominster, Wayne Bessette of Fitchburg; 1 stepson, Joseph Fournier of Winchendon; 3 daughters, Darlene Malourin of Phillipston, Donna Martineau of Clinton, June Leben of Malibu, CA; 1 stepdaughter, Jaylene Terminello of Middletown, CT; 1 brother, John T. Woodward of Ashburnham; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves a dear friend, Audrey L. Carabba of Gardner. He was predeceased by a brother David Woodward and 3 sisters, Mary Lee Mason, Jane Mason and Joanne Barnes.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 29th, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial of cremains will be in Woodside Cemetery, Westminster.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m.
