Robert H. "Bob" White, 76, of 150 Old Westminster Road, Hubbardston, died peacefully Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner, following a long illness.
Robert was born in Gardner on March 15, 1938, the son of the late Russell and Lillian (Syminouski) White.
He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1956.
Robert was employed with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections for over 21 years. His most recent position, prior to retiring in 2002, was at the Concord facility as the Assistant Director of Secured Facilities Unit. During his career he also worked at the Gardner and Framingham facilities. Robert was previously a Manager at several First National Stores, Inc. in Worcester County.
He was an avid sports fan who loved all sports, especially NASCAR. He treasured spending time with his family and friends.
Robert leaves his wife of 39 years, Linda L. (Borkowski) White of Hubbardston; two sons, Kris M. White and his wife Sandra of Leominster and Scott R. White, Sr. and his wife Tracy of Gardner; one stepson, Shawn D. Anderson of Lowell; one sister, Sheila "Tina" Harris of Gardner; three grandchildren, Scott R. White, Jr. and his fiancé Paige Butler; Christopher J. Starkweather and Sarah A. White; one great-grandchild, Jolin Sbrega; eight nieces and nephews, Keith, Greg, Robin, Stephanie, Kimberly, Julie, Kathleen and Lori; three cousins, Peter, Donna and Wayne; and many very special close friends. He was predeceased by his grandchild, Krislin M. White who died in 2006.
Funeral Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an Animal Shelter of the donor's choice.
