Robert Cyr Waxlax

Robert Cyr Waxlax, 51, of 930 Templeton St., Athol, and formerly of Hubbardston, died Tuesday, July 12th in Umass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus, Worcester, following an illness.

Born in Gardner on November 9, 1953, he was the son of Robert W. and Dorina (Cyr) Waxlax.

He owned and operated Waxlax Insurance Co. of Gardner for 23 years, retiring in 2004.

He was a 1971 graduate of Gardner High School, attended Assumption College in 1972 and graduated from Mount Wachusett Community College with a degree in Business Administration in 1978.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He was a member of Three Pyramids of Fitchburg and also a member of Professional Insurance Agents Group of New England. Mr. Waxlax enjoyed dancing, playing volleyball, fishing, biking, skiing and going out to eat. He also enjoyed politics.
Besides his parents of Athol, he leaves a daughter, Bianca Waxlax of San Diego, CA; his former wife, Marianne Campbell of Fitchburg; a sister, Sandra E. Deschene and husband Steve of Manchaug; 3 nephews, Zachary, Tyler and Max Robert Deschene; 3 nieces, Ashley, Alexa and Zoe Deschene all of Manchaug; his godparents, James & Connie Penda of Bristol, CT.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial in Crystal Lake Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday, July 16th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
