Robert R. Provencher “Fat Bob”, 71, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Friday, May 13, 2022, in his residence.
Born in Gardner on December 25, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert and Thelma (LeBlanc) Provencher. Robert was a United States Army Vietnam War Veteran serving from 1968 to 1971, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was the Owner and Operator of Area Transport Services for 16-years prior to his retirement.
Robert had a passion for cars and especially loved motorcycles and was an avid participant in the Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center Bike Run. He was also a very talented guitarist. Robert’s greatest joy was found when he was with his family and friends cherishing all the special moments spent together.
Robert is survived by his three sons, Ethen Provencher and his wife Jessica of Gardner, Waylon Provencher of Gardner and Beau Provencher of Gardner; a daughter, Sabrina Provencher of Texas; six grandchildren, Xavier Provencher, Yesenia Jones, Riley, and Kaylee Provencher, Olivia Caron and Briana Provencher; three great-grandchildren, Juliana, Cyrene, and Savannah; a brother, James Provencher and his wife Sharon; two sisters, Laura Darling and her husband Steve of Gardner, and Maurielle Charlone of Winchendon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50-years, Amparo Provencher, who died in 2021; and a brother-in-law, Kenny Charlone.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA.
A Calling Hour will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
