Robert L. Owens

Robert L. Owens, 77, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at his home.

Born in Leesville, Louisiana, on September 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Louis and Dorothy (Hawke) Owens. He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1964. Robert was employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner/ Westminster for over 30 years in various departments. When he left Simplex, he worked for International Rectifier, as well as a manufacturing job in New Hampshire. After Bob's retirement, he was a Bus Monitor for the Gardner School system.

Bob was a congregant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Gardner, where he was an active member of its church choir and the church Sexton for many years. He enjoyed gardening, always striving for that perfect tomato. He loved walking with his dog, Shaggie. Bob's real joy was his family and friends, always treasuring their special moments.

Bob is survived by his wife of 32 years, Maureen E. (Leroy) Owens of Gardner; two daughters, Debra and Heather; a brother, Kenneth Owens and his wife Donna of Florida; a brother-in-law, Gerry Beaudoin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his stepson, Adam Gallant, and his sister Lola Beaudoin.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 79 Cross Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. 

Calling Hours will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
