Robert J. Holden, 69, of 75 Jean Street, Gardner, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave, Worcester, surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
Robert was born in Gardner on December 3, 1944, the son of the late Edward and Marion (LaChance ) Holden.
He retired in 1995, and was previously employed by Simplex Time Recorder, GEM Industries, Digital Equipment Corporation and Walmart.
Robert was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Gardner.
He enjoyed traveling, dining out, fishing, playing computer games and watching his favorite television programs, The Food Network, Investigation Discovery Channel. He loved spending time with his family.
Robert was a member of the National and Gardner Chapters of A.A.R.P. and the Gardner Golden Agers.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Sheila "Pam" (LeRoy) Holden of Gardner; one daughter, Heidi L. Valliere and her husband Russell of Gardner; two sisters, Arlene Buckley and her husband Paul of Gardner and Janet Boucher of Gardner; one sister-in-law, Linda Holden of New Haven, VT; one grandson, Russell Valliere, Jr. of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward A. "Sonny" Holden.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 79 Cross Street, Gardner. Please report directly to the church. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
