Robert L"Bob" Herring

Robert "Bob" L. Herring, 64, died Tuesday, October 26th in Tewksbury Hospital, Tewksbury, following a brief illness.
Born in West Point, NY on September 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Robert and Virginia (Erickson) Herring.
Bob was as assembler employed by ARC of Fitchburg for ten years, retiring in 1987. He attended the B.U.D.D. Day Program from 1987 through 1999, and from 1999 to present he was attending the Adult Day Health Program at the GVNA in Gardner. He also attended the R.R.I. Day Hab Program in Leominster.
Bob enjoyed fishing, dancing, shopping, going to the library and taking trips. He liked to attend church dinners at Bethany Baptist Church in Gardner and loved eating alligator at Kay's Dairy Bar in Gardner. He enjoyed watching Western movies, listening to Country music and he loved the Holidays. Bob was fond of his fish and guinea pigs. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Bob had the opportunity to live in several locations, including Germany, where he learned to speak German.
He leaves one brother, Vincent Herring and his wife Mary of Rochester, MN; one sister, Barbara Herring of Alexandria, VA; several nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves his special housemate friends, Brian, Ed, John, Scott, Eve, Tina, Kenny, Mary, all the staff at the Bridge, his service coordinator Byron Martin and long time friend Lucy Dickerson. Bob was predeceased by a brother, William Herring.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Tuesday, November 9th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
