Robert J."Bob" Duplacy

Robert J. "Bob" Duplacy, 82, of 129 Barthel Avenue, Gardner, died suddenly Monday, September 3rd .
Born in Gardner on June 6, 1925, he was the son of the late Harry and Edna (Cormier) Duplacy.
Mr. Duplacy was a Press Operator for Collier-Keyworth Co. in Gardner for 35 years, during which time he only missed two days of work. He was previously employed by Irving Oil Co. in Saint John's Bouctouche N.B. Canada for five years, where he was a fireman on the E.E. Lkhound Oil Tanker.
Robert was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He was a member of the Acadien Social Club, a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #396, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie Post 747 of Gardner.
Mr. Duplacy served in the Canadien Merchant Marines.
He enjoyed traveling to Canada and digging for clams. He liked to spend his time doing yard work, watching ice hockey on television, and was previously a boxer. He and his neighbors dog, "Buzz" became the best of friends. He also enjoyed his daily coffee at McDonald's in Gardner with all of his friends.
Robert was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Dorothy M. ( Duplessis) Duplacy who died in 1985.
He leaves two daughters, Roberta A. Duplacy of Gardner and Isabelle F. Karpeichik and her husband Chester of Phillipston; four grandchildren, Lenny and Joel LeBlanc, Allison Karpeichik-Hill and Matthew Karpeichik; six great-grandchildren, Luc, Jake, Matthew, Daniel, Brandon, Kaylee LeBlanc; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Leo Duplacy and one sister, Lillian Duplessis.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September, 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in Bouctouche, N.B. Canada.
A calling hour at the funeral home is Tuesday, September 11th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
