Rita Seffinga

Rita (Bernard) (Aube) Seffinga, 91, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, April 14, 2018 in her daughter's residence in Westminster, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on October 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Suzanne (Robichaud) Bernard.
Rita was employed by the former New England Telephone Company of Gardner as a telephone operator for ten years, retiring in 1965. She was previously employed by the City of Gardner as a cafeteria worker in the Gardner Public Schools.
Rita was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino and dining out at various restaurants.
Rita was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Frank Seffinga, who died in 2009.
She leaves three sons, Donald Aube and his wife Elaine of Leominster, Alan Aube of Gardner, and Brian Aube and his partner, Jen Corso of Gardner; five daughters, Christine Rameau and her husband Norman of Gardner, Carole Martin and her partner, Bill Sylvester of Westminster, Janice Hauter of Boerne, TX, Ann-Marie Allain and her husband Dave of Leominster and Nancy Aveni and her husband James of Westminster; one brother, Donald Bernard of San Marcos, CA; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita was predeceased by her brother, Omer Bernard; and by her sister, Bertha Schulz.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Friday, April 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
