Rita M. (Roy) LeClair, 86, of 19 Starfire Ave., Templeton, died Sunday, July 2nd in her residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Gardner on November 22, 1919, she was the daughter of Walter and Mary Jane (Maillet) Roy.
She was a licensed practical nurse employed at Gardner State Hospital for several years until retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church, E. Templeton and a member of its Rosary Sodality Society. She had a passion for reading, particularly Christian fiction, devoted to reciting the rosary and was a very hard worker.
Her husband of 67 years, Francis LeClair, died May 12, 2006.
She leaves 2 daughters, Janice C. Whitney of Bartow, FL, Marilyn G. Morningstar of Templeton; a sister, Eva Miganowicz of Gardner; a son-in-law Donald Rahaim of Templeton; 7 grandchildren, Lee, Jody Guthrie, Shawn Meunier, Ryan Rahaim, Julie (Rahaim) Dean, Kristine (Whitney) Sellas and John Whitney; 13 great-grandchildren, Jillian, Allison, Sadie, Madelyn, Lindsey Guthrie, David, Christopher,Nicholas Sellas, Blake and Paige Whitney, Brianna Kulvete, Jamisyn and Erik Meunier; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter Betty Rahaim of Templeton who died in 2003, 3 brothers, Cleo, Wilfred Edmund Roy; 7 sisters, Irene M. Columbus, Alice Boucher, Ida Roy, Eugenie Girouard, Beatrice Paquette, Mildred Brassard and Orena Tomasiumas.
Memorial services for Mrs. LeClair and her husband, Francis LeClair who died May 12, 2006, will be held July 15th at 9:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, Lake Ave., E. Templeton. Burial of cremains will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner, at a later date.
