Rita M. (Mazerolle) Daigle, 69, of 445 Pearl St., Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, September 4th in Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence, Worcester, following a long battle with cancer.
Born in Minto, NB, Canada on July 20, 1942, she was the daughter of Nazaire and Alice (Guimond) Mazerolle.
She was last employed by Simplex Time Recorder Co. of Gardner working as an engraver for 10 years until retiring in 1975. She was previously employed at Independent Lock Co. of Fitchburg and the former Heywood-Wakefield Co. of Gardner.
Rita was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, walking and watching baseball. Rita was very adept at knitting and sewing. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
She leaves her husband of 46 years, Nazaire Daigle of Gardner; her mother, Alice (Guimond) Daigle of St. John, NB, Canada; 2 sons, Jamie M. Daigle of Gardner and Kevin B. Daigle of Cromwell, CT; a brother, Maurice Mazerolle and his wife Mary of Toronto, Canada; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 8th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, September 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
