Rita D. Belliveau

Rita D. (Meunier) Belliveau, 84, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, Templeton, after a period of declining health.

Born in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada, on March 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Emma (Allain) Meunier. Rita was an assembler employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner and Westminster for several years before her retirement in 2001.

Rita was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner, practicing at its Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She loved to travel, especially up to Canada, as well as work on puzzles. Rita’s greatest joy was her family, treasuring all the times spent together.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Susan O’Brien and her husband David of Royalston; three sons, Omer Belliveau and his wife Lynn of Winchendon, Gerry Belliveau and his wife Danielle of Hill, NH, and Daniel Belliveau and his wife Rogette of Gardner; sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Goudelin and her husband Gary of Erving; two brothers, Edmond Meunier of Moncton, NB, Canada, and Roger Meunier of Moncton, NB, Canada; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Norman J. Belliveau, who died in 2005; and a grandson, Jordan M. Belliveau, who died in 2016.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

A Calling Hour will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
