Richard "Ricky" Howes

Richard "Ricky" Howes, 64, of Gardner, formerly of Waltham, MA died peacefully Saturday, October 21, 2017 in his residence surrounded by family, following a brief battle with stomach cancer.
He was born in Waltham on November 1, 1952, the son of the late Paul L. and Mary (Shutt) Howes.
Ricky was a machinist employed by Artisan Industries, Inc. of Waltham for 33 years, retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1018 of Waltham.
He loved going to Las Vegas and Foxwoods; and he also enjoyed playing cards and playing pool. Ricky was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, and he loved watching the television series "Blue Bloods". Ricky treasured spending time with his family and he adored his grandchildren.
He leaves his wife of 30 years, Cheryl A. (Hansen) Howes; two daughters, Jennifer N. Howes Sund and her husband Pete of Athol and Meghan E. Hutchins and her husband Josh of Winchendon; Kirby E. Bennett of Winchendon, whom he considered his third daughter; one brother, Paul Howes and his wife Joyce of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters, Janet Nedza and her husband John of Waltham and Maureen Turmel of Waltham; seven grandchildren, Jade, Shawn, Pacey, Lorilai, Harlie, Maya and Kaylee; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
