Richard J. Dunn

Richard J. Dunn, 91, of Gardner, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after an illness.

Born in Boston on August 24, 1929, he was the son of the late Richard and Mary (Haney) Dunn. Richard was a United States Army Korean War Veteran serving from 1951 to 1953, where he received the Army Occupation Medal in Germany. He was a Real Estate Broker and was also employed by Park-Davis Company of Cambridge for many years until his retirement in 1989.

Richard was a member of the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner. He loved to watch television and travelling. Richard was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and enjoyed watching games. But the time that he cherished the most was spent with his family.

Richard is survived by his son, Richard Dunn of Hubbardston; three daughters, Linda LaRoche and her husband Bruce of Hubbardston, Christine Murphy and her husband Glenn of Gardner, and Jennifer DesRoches and her husband David of Hubbardston; ten grandchildren, Aundrea, Jason, Eric, Justin, Dawn, Sean, Sarah, Melissa, Danny and Francis; seven great-grandchildren, Camden, Emil, Connor, Mikayla, Kalum, Kailie, and Alaisha; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife of Mary C. (Collins) Dunn, who died in 2019; a son, Brian Dunn, who died in 2016; and two sisters, Marilyn Conroy and Sandra Wilcox.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A Private Burial for Richard and Mary will be held in the spring at Brookside Cemetery, Route 68, Hubbardston, MA.
