Richard C Brassard

Richard C. Brassard, Jr., 49, of E. Templeton, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner, following a long, aggressive battle with Myotonic Dystrophy.
Born in Gardner on June 27, 1966, he was the son of Richard C. and Patricia A. (Gallagher) Brassard.
Richard graduated in 1985 from Narragansett Regional High School of Baldwinville through the CAPS program. He was a member of Holy Cross Church of E. Templeton. Richard was a member of the E. Templeton Boy Scouts in 1980, and won numerous medals.
Richard enjoyed watching television. His favorites were comedy shows, game shows and MeTV. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Richard enjoyed reading, especially the Bible and the Sports World Record Book. He especially enjoyed playing baseball, bowling and playing video games with his look-alike family characters as players. He loved spending time with his family, and treasured the memories of visits from several classmates during his 20th class reunion at the Old Mill Restaurant in Westminster.
Besides his mother, Richard leaves his sister, Debra L. LeBlanc and her husband David of E. Templeton; one uncle, James S. Gallagher and his wife Joyce of Whitinsville; five cousins; dear friend, Andrea Helie of Leominster and the staff at Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was predeceased by his father who died September 30, 1986; brother, Robert J. Brassard who died December 21, 2011; and sister, Laura A. Brassard who died September 22, 1989.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, January 7th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
