Renee Haley

Renee (Weaver) Haley, 76, of Phillipston, died peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.

Born in Pittsfield on April 17, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Quentin and Eva L. (Wheeler) Weaver. She graduated from Pioneer Valley High School with the Class of 1966, and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1970. Renee was a registered nurse for many years, working for Walter Fernald School, UMass Memorial HealthAlliance Hospital—Leominster, Henry Heywood Hospital, Gardner and Athol Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2012.

Renee was a congregant of the Congregational Church of Phillipston. She adored her daily coffee outings and cherished her travels to Plum Island, Hampton Beach, Cranes Beach, and Essex River Cruises. Her flower gardens were a testament to her nurturing nature, always kept in pristine condition. But above all, her love for animals, especially her cat, Pete, and the many others she cared for over the years, was unparalleled.

Renee is survived by her life partner, John Ladroga of Phillipston; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Nancy Woods and David Weaver.

Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
