Rene R LaRoche

Rene R. LaRoche, 87, of 19 Old Oak Avenue, Westminster, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 in HealthAlliance Hospital of Leominster, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on August 3, 1928, he was the son of the late Leon and Rose (Ducharme) LaRoche.
He was a self-employed upholsterer who owned and operated R & C LaRoche Upholstering of Gardner for many years. Rene took great pride in his business and loved working. He never formally retired, and actually continued working until recently becoming ill.
Rene was a United States WWII Navy Veteran and received the World War II Victory Medal.
He was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Rene enjoyed trips to casinos, boating and spending time with his family at the lake. He loved the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Rene leaves his loving companion of 35 years, Ann L. (Sears) Pahl of Westminster; one son, David LaRoche of Daytona, FL; three daughters, Nancy R. Allard of Gardner, Suzanne M. Janhunen and her husband Warren of Gardner and Ann M. Barus of Gardner; one brother, Norman LaRoche and his wife Rhea of Gardner; eight grandchildren, Christine Bourgeois, Robert Allard, Christopher Stone, Warren Janhunen, Jr, David LaRoche, Jr, Kayla LaRoche, Erin Barus and Sara Barus; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his former wife, Jeannette (Richard) LaRoche of Gardner. Rene was predeceased by his granddaughter, Tara LaRoche.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 30th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial with full military honors will be held in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 29th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gardner Relay for Life, 350 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
