Raymond A. Poitras, 74, of 1536 Green St., died unexpectedly April 15, 2013, in his residence.
Born in Gardner on October 22, 1938, he was the son of Joseph and Doris (Cantin) Poitras.
Ray was a Campus Police Chief employed at Templeton Redevelopmental Center of Templeton for 26 years, retiring in 1990.
He enjoyed cooking and watching sports on television but his greatest enjoyment was hunting in Maine.
Ray served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1962
He leaves two step-sisters, Sherry Morse of South Ashburnham and Diane LaFortune of Cape Cod; one uncle Leo Cantin and his wife Betty of Gardner; his significant other, Janice L. Patnode of Gardner; and his very close friends, Frank and Diane Dack of Winchendon. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert J. Poitras.
There are no funeral services planned.
