Raymond R Ouellette

July 7, 1928 — November 28, 2008

Raymond R. Ouellette, 80, of 263 Park St., Gardner, died peacefully Friday, November 28th in Heywood Hospital surrounded by his family following a short illness.

Born in Winchendon on July 7, 1928, he was the son of Rosaire and Mary (Holman) Ouellette.

Ray was a receiver employed by the former Lilly Chemical Company of Templeton for 29 years, until retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Ray was a lifetime member of the Napoleon Club and the Gardner Lodge of Elks Lodge 1421. He was also a member of the Deer Club. In the 1950's Mr. Ouellette received the City of Gardner Golf Championship. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, bowling, dancing and especially loved socializing and spending time with his family and many friends.

Ray was a Korean War U.S. Army Veteran.

His wife of 46 years, Geraldine Mae (Kenney) Ouellette, died in 2000.

He leaves a son, Gary M. Ouellette and his wife Lori of Jacksonville, NC; 2 daughters, Charlene A. Blouin and her partner Gary Rahaim of Gardner, Rhea M. Anderson and her husband Daniel of Fitchburg; a brother, Vernon Ouellette and his wife Ann of Gardner; a sister, Marie Goguen and her husband Donald of Chesapeake, VA; a sister-in-law, Karen Ouellette of Gardner; 6 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Emile Ouellette and a sister, Joan Szocik.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 3rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, December 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
