Raymond L. "Ray" Nadeau, 80, of Gardner died peacefully, Monday, September 12, 2016 in UMass Memorial Medical Center of Worcester, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on December 7, 1935, he was the son of the late Arthur and Florence (Gagne) Nadeau.
Ray graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1954, and spent the following four years with the Sons of Mary Missionaries in Framingham, MA.
He was employed by The Highlands of Fitchburg as a Dietary Aide for 10 years, retiring in 2000. He was previously employed by Temple-Stuart Furniture Company of Baldwinville as a warehouse packer for 16 years.
Ray was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, where he was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and taught CCD. He was a member of the Marie Rivier Adoration Chapel and was a Marie Rivier Associate of Methuen Province. Ray also volunteered for many years during the Parish's annual Bazaar.
He enjoyed reading, walking and watching 'Jeopardy' and 'Wheel of Fortune' on television. He was a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #396 of Gardner, was a member and officer for the ACA Division of Royal Arcanum and was a member of the Gardner Chapter of AARP.
Ray leaves many close friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 15th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, September 15th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
