Raymond “Ray” L. Laliberte, 81, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in his home.

Born in Rumford, Maine, on June 16, 1942, he was the son of the late Leo and Irene (Ambrose) Laliberte. Ray graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1961 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Thomistic Theology from St. Mary’s College in Minnesota in 1967. He was employed by Fabric Place in Fitchburg as a reupholster for 40 years until his retirement in 2008.

Ray was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner, practicing at its Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, where he served as a eucharistic minister and a member of the Marie Riviere Adoration Chapel. He loved animals, especially birds, reading, handball, and tennis. Ray’s greatest enjoyment was being around his family and friends.

Ray is survived by three cousins, Gisele Mongeon of Palmer, Barry Mongeon of Warren, and Dennis Ambrose of Templeton.

Funeral Services will be held be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
