Raymond Boucher, 84, of 50 Pine Street, Gardner died peacefully Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in the Blaire House, Worcester following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on February 14, 1928, he was the son of the late Alphee and Ida (Boucher) Boucher.
Raymond was employed by Simplex Time Recorder in Gardner as a wire inspector for 16 years, retiring in 1989. He was previously owner/operator of Ray's Barber Shop in Gardner for 22 years, and was President of the Barber's Union.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner. Raymond was a projectionist at the Orpheum Theatre, and from the 1940's through the 1960's he was a guitarist for several local bands.
Raymond was a United States WWII Army Veteran and received the World War II Victory Medal.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Leonnette M. (Bastarache) Boucher, who died October 31, 2002.
He leaves four daughters, Nancy Turcotte and her husband Richard of Gardner, Holly A. Delisle and her husband Ed of Hubbardston, Susan M. Lajoie and her husband Tim of Templeton and Donna J. Bourgeois and her husband John of Athol; five grandchildren, Bobbi-Jo Bourgeois and Katelyn Bourgeois, Justin Turcotte, Jared Lajoie and Shawn Delisle; six great-grandchildren, Noah Turcotte, Lily Turcotte, Mylee Castiglia, Haylee Castiglia, Robert John and Simon John; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Paul Boucher.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 30th with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
