Raoul G. "Ray" Beauregard, 101, of 51 Hospital Rd., Baldwinville and formerly of 20 Sunrise Lane, Gardner, died peacefully Monday, July 2nd, in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, surrounded by his family following a long illness.
Born in Lowell on February 25, 1906, he was the son of Louis and Cordelia (Boisvert) Beauregard.
He was an expediter employed by the former Heywood-Wakefield Co. of Gardner for 31 years, retiring in 1965.
Mr. Beauregard was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its League of the Sacred Heart. He was a member of the Gardner Golden Agers and he enjoyed playing pool, cards, and working on needlepoint. He was a Boy Scout Leader, firefighter, and captain of the St. Jean de Baptiste Drill Team, all in Suncook, NH where he liked to go fishing and camping. Mr. Beauregard made 18,000 rosary beads in 5 ½ years and distributed them throughout the world. He especially loved his little dog, "Tristan". He was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan and took much pleasure in watching The Discovery Channel, in particular "National Geographic" and "Animal Planet."
His wife of 52 years, Dora M. (Lefebvre) Beauregard, died in 1981.
He leaves 4 daughters, Irene Ackerman, Rita Sentabar with whom he lived before entering the Nursing Home, Doris Couture, Anita Hanks and her husband Kenneth, all of Gardner; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-greatgrandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Donald Beauregard of Gardner who died in 1999, a grandson, Ronald Lang Jr. who died in 1993, one brother, Lionel Beauregard and five sisters, Beatrice Ouellette, Yvonne Boudreau, Edna Levasseur, Anna Larmand and Antoinette Coutu.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Thursday, July 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
