Ralph R. Blackmer, 88, of Baldwinville, died peacefully Saturday, June 10, 2023, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.

Born in Brandon, Vermont on March 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Ralph A. and Jessie (Bishop) Blackmer. He was a machinist employed by Monadnock Lifetime Products, Inc. of Fitzwilliam, NH for 13-years prior to his retirement. He was previously employed by Agle-Corman Furniture Co. of Burlington, VT as a Warehouse Manager.

Ralph was a member of the North American Fishing Club, AARP, and the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC. He enjoyed reading about politics, and listening to country music. Ralph loved being outdoors hunting and fishing—catching all sorts of prizes throughout the years. His greatest joy in life is his family, especially his children treasuring all the special moments they had together.

Ralph is survived by his life partner, Rita M. Tkaczyk of Templeton; his son, Ralph O. Blackmer of Swanton, VT; a daughter, Barbara Rivers of Swanton, VT; two grandchildren, Amy Cannon, and Scott Rivers; three great-grandchildren, Gerry, Tommy and Dacoda Hollis; a brother, Lawrence M. Blackmer of Vergennes, VT; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by two daughters, Linda L. Brunelle, and Constance Slocum; a grandson, Louis Miller; a brother, Gerald C. Blackmer.

Graveside Services in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bridge Street, Baldwinville, MA, will be held at a later date.
