Rachel D. Thibodeau

Rachel D. (Guertin) Thibodeau, 70, of Gardner, passed away peacefully Friday, September 10, 2021, in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester.

Born in Gardner on September 30, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred J. and Diane A (Voisine) Guertin. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1969 and received a certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner. Rachel was a CNA employed by the Winchendon Health Center in Winchendon for 20-years until her retirement in 2017. She was previously employed by Heywood Hospital of Gardner.

Rachel was a former parishioner of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner and current parishioner Annunciation Parish of Gardner. She enjoyed cooking and going to the Polish American Citizens Club with her friends. Rachel was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. But the time she loved and treasured the most was spent with her family.

Rachel is survived by her son, Robert C. Thibodeau, Jr. of Kent, Washington; her daughter, Christine D. Yablonski and her husband Michael of Gardner; four brothers, Roland Guertin of Hubbardston, Roger Guertin, Ronald Guertin, and Donald Guertin, all of Gardner; two sisters, Lucille Diemdowicz of Gardner and Anne Beaureguard and her husband Eugene “Gene” of Gardner; two adopted grandchildren, Micayla, and Lauryn Davis; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Guertin and Normand Guertin.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. in Boucher Funeral Home Inc.; 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021. from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
