R. Charles "Charlie" Johnson

R. Charles "Charlie" Johnson, 53, of 7 Main Street, Ashburnham died Wednesday, January 16, 2012 in Health-Alliance Hospital, Leominster, after being stricken ill at work.
Charlie was born in Cambridge, MA on March 14, 1959, the son of the late Robert C. and Lois (Daly) Johnson.
He graduated from Gardner High School, Gardner with the class of 1977. He studied HVAC/R at the Porter and Chester Institute of Chicopee.
At the time of his death, he was employed by Four Points Sheraton of Leominster in the maintenance department. He was also employed by Kohl's Department Store in Leominster.
Charlie was a member of Holy Spirit Church of Gardner, and also attended Mass at St. Denis Church in Ashburnham.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching sports on television. He loved the beach and going to one of his favorite landmarks, Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. Charlie also enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He was a member of "The Turtle Club".
Charlie leaves his wife of 16 years, Karen A. Wright-Johnson of Ashburnham; one son, Brian A. Johnson of Ashburnham; one daughter, Amanda L. Johnson of Ashburnham; three brothers, Alan D. Johnson, Paul C. Johnson and James D. Johnson all of Gardner; two sisters, Mary F. Reed of Ashburnham and Patricia A. Haley of Gardner; three aunts, Mary Kowlzan, Arja Daly and Ellen Daly; two uncles, Joe Daly and Paul Daly and his wife Lou; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Monday, January 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leo's Club of Montachusett Regional Vocation Technical High School, 1050 Westminster Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
