Priscilla M. (Putnam) Thibault, 76, of 278 Parker St., Gardner died peacefully Friday, May 27th in Heywood Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born in Gardner on May 17, 1935, she was a daughter of Edwin and Rita (Landry) Nivala.
She was a manager employed in the Prepared Food Department of Stop & Shop, Gardner for 22 years until retiring in 2001. She was previously a switchboard operator employed by the former N.E. Telephone Company, former Gem Crib Co. and Heywood Hospital, all of Gardner.
She was a 1953 graduate of Gardner High School.
Priscilla was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Her family and friends were very important to her. She spent vacations at York Beach, Maine and winters in Florida. Priscilla enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends and going to Foxwoods with them.
She also enjoyed bingo and bowling.
She leaves her husband of 51 years, Robert L. Thibault of Gardner; 3 sons, Keith F. Thibault and his wife Lisa of Swanzey, NH, Bruce A. Thibault of Gardner, Robert B. Thibault and his wife Alicia of Clearwater Beach, FL; 2 daughters, Donna M. Baczewski and her husband Ted of Worcestser, Susan E. Cormier and her fiancé Timothy Brunell of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; a sister, Carol Putnam of Gardner; a sister-in-law, Mary-Jane Putnam of Fitchburg; 7 grandchildren, Bryan and Kaitlyn Cormier, Tyler, Celeste, Kyle, Nathan, and Matthew Thibault; a stepgrandchild Salina Baczewski; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Putnam of Fitchburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, June 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of MA, 393 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01105 or to Heywood Hospital, ICU Unit, 242 Green St., Gardner, MA 01440.
