Philippe R."Phil" Labossiere

Philippe R. "Phil" Labossiere, 82, of 255 Sherman Street, Gardner, died unexpectedly Monday, February 10, 2014 in HealthAlliance Hospital, Leominster, following a brief illness.
Philippe was born in Gardner on September 26, 1931, the son of the late Hercules and Lillian (Cote) Labossiere.
He was employed by Nichols and Stone Company of Gardner as a wood finisher for several years. He was previously employed by George B. Bent Company of Gardner.
Philippe was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed line dancing, playing horseshoes, bowling, crossword puzzles and watching television, his favorite show being NCIS. Philippe was an avid sports fan, especially baseball and football.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Louise E. (Cormier) Labossiere, who died March 11, 2010.
He leaves four sons, Roger P. Labossiere of Gardner, David J. Labossiere and his partner Marian Bemis of Gardner; Michael L. Labossiere and his husband David Plunkett of Gardner; Thomas D. Labossiere and his wife Deborah of Templeton; one daughter, Lisa A. Brackett and her husband Bruce of Fitzwilliam, NH; one sister, Marion Cote and her husband Romeo of Gardner; his loving daughter-in-law, Nancy Labossiere of St. Mary's, Georgia; six grandchildren, Robert and Steve Labossiere, Brandi Christanovich, Benjamin Whitcher, Bethany Valentin and Richard Brackett; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Labossiere who died in 1953 during the Korean Conflict, and Paul Labossiere; and by one sister, Marion Cote.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 17th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
Calling hours will be Sunday, February 16th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
