Pearl D. Greenwood

March 14, 1937 — September 2, 2005

Pearl D. (Stone) Greenwood, 68, of 19 City Hall Ave., Gardner, died Friday, September 2nd in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a long illness.

Born in Gardner on March 14, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Earl Stone.

She was a proof reader employed by The Gardner News for 25 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a 1956 graduate of Gardner High School and attended Mount Wachusett Community College.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and was also a member of Sacred Heart Prayer Group. Mrs. Greenwood enjoyed bowling, reading, watching television (especially Prayer channels) and loved her grandchildren.

She leaves 2 sons, William R. Greenwood and his fiancee Margaret Rakonza of Gardner, Richard J. Greenwood and his fiancee Karen Erickson of Winchendon; 1 daughter, Sally R. Cremin of Gardner; her mother, Doris (Cote) Stone of Gardner; 2 brothers, Robert Stone of Athol and William Stone of Gardner; 5 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her former husband, John Louis Greenwood who died in 1999.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7th with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, September 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
