Pauline R. (Goodwin) (Beaulieu) Vandale, 94, of 116 Church Street, Gardner died Monday, December 17th in her residence following brief illness.
She was born in Gardner on November 24, 1913, the daughter of Frederick and Maryanne (Demers) Goodwin.
Prior to retiring in 1974, Mrs. Vandale was employed at the Gardner State Hospital for 33 years as a licensed practical nurse. She was previously employed at Rutland State Hospital, Rutland.
Pauline attended Rutland School of Nursing, Rutland.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, the Gardner Golden Agers and the Gardner Chapter of A.A.R.P.
Pauline enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Center to play cards and bingo.
Mrs. Vandale was predeceased by her first husband, Charles E. Beaulieu who died in 1950, and by her second husband, Leo J. Vandale who died in 1977.
She leaves two sons, Charles R. Beaulieu and his wife Linda of Albuquerque, NM and Leon Paul Beaulieu and his wife Alma of Centerville, MA; one sister, Annette Barrieault of Rockledge, FL; three grandchildren, Lisa Beaulieu of Watertown, David Beaulieu of Hyannis and Daniel Beaulieu of Los Angeles, CA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a dear friend, Claire Lagasse of Gardner. She was predeceased by three brothers, Cleo LaBonte, Henry Goodwin, Alfred Goodwin and by five sisters, Yvonne Casey, Doris Richard, Bessie LaClair, Flora Gagne and Esther Goodwin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery of Rutland.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Saturday, December 22nd from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
