Pauline M."Pauli" Demers

December 5, 1925 — August 20, 2010

Pauline M. "Pauli" (Conti) Demers, 84, of 192 Central Street, Gardner and formerly of 109 Prospect Street, Gardner, died peacefully Friday, August 20th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave. N., Worcester.

Born in E. Templeton, MA on December 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Conciatori) Conti.

Prior to retiring in 1988, Pauline was employed by S. Bent Brothers Co. of Gardner as a Clerical Worker in the Credit Department for 12 years. She was previously employed by Florence Stove Co. for 4 years.

Pauline graduated from Templeton High School with the Class of 1944.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Church, Gardner.

Pauline was a gifted artist and teacher, quilter and cake decorator. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and traveling. Pauline enjoyed watching the "Wheel of Fortune" and Public Broadcasting programs, especially "Are You Being Served" on television. She was devoted to, and most enjoyed spending time with her family.

Pauline leaves her husband of 61 years, J. Edward Demers of Gardner, whom she married on October 2, 1948 in a ceremony performed by his Uncle, Reverend Theodore Demers of North Adams, MA.

She also leaves three sons, Daniel E. Demers and his wife Judy of Ipswich, MA, David J. Demers and his wife Patricia of Millersville, MD and Dr. Richard T. Demers of Moorpark, CA; three daughters, Mary L. Svenson and her husband Richard of Westford, MA, Jacqueline A. Soper and her husband Michael of Tyngsboro, MA and Melanie A. Demers of Mountainview, CA; nine grandchildren, Thomas Svenson, Christopher Svenson, Julie Soper, Michelle Soper, Mellisa Demers, Becky Skelley, Hitomi Demers, Tomoki Demers and Yuhki Demers; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, John Conti and Guido Conti and by one sister, Mary Mason.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 31st at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
