Pauline M. (Canty)(Violette) Armstrong, 87, of East Templeton, died peacefully Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester, with her family by her side.

Born in Gardner on May 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Yvonne M. (LeBlanc) Canty. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1953. Pauline was a Cashier employed by Donald's of Athol for many years prior to her retirement. She was previously a Teacher’s Aide employed by the Athol-Royalton School District.

Pauline was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church of East Templeton. She had many interests, which included painting, arts, and crafts, and she was excellent at artisanal work. Pauline also loved crocheting, knitting, cooking, and baking. Her greatest enjoyment was found when she was with her family, always treasuring the time they spent together.

Pauline is survived by her three daughters, Linda M. Vickery and her husband Eric of Lunenburg, Christine A. Phelps and her husband Gary of Athol, and Jean M. Duguay and her husband Jay of Florida; two sons, David John Violette and his wife Terri of Connecticut, and James M. Violette of Gardner; two stepdaughters, Gail Morehart and her husband John of Florida and Judy Letendre and her husband Gregory of Florida; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her first husband, John Violette, who died in 1973; her second husband, Herbert Armstrong, who died in 2000; a daughter, Lisa Marie Violette, who died in 1962; two sisters, Doris Dewey and Evelyn Canty; and a brother, Paul Canty.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Avenue, East Templeton, MA. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.

A Calling Hour and Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
