Paul A. Fluet

Paul A. Fluet, 71, of 104 Church Street, Gardner, and formerly of Fitchburg, died peacefully Saturday, May 10th in his residence surrounded by his family.

Born in Fitchburg on October 25, 1936, he was the son the late Hector J. and Laura (Bodo) Fluet.

Paul was employed as a maintenance worker by Montachusett Regional Transit Authority (MART) of Fitchburg for five years, retiring in 1999. He was previously employed at the former Roberts Plymouth Chrysler dealership of Fitchburg for three years.

Paul was a 1954 graduate of St. Bernards High School, Fitchburg.

Mr. Fluet was a United States Army Veteran from 1958 to 1960 and received the Good Conduct Medal.

Paul was a member of Holy Spirit Church, Gardner. He was also a member of the West End Beagle Club, Gardner.

Paul enjoyed sports, especially golf and football. He adored his dog "Corky", and loved time spent in Cape Cod and Maine.

He leaves his wife of 24 years, Rita M. (Dymek) Fluet of Gardner; three sons, Kenneth P. Fluet and his wife Diane of Lunenburg, Kevin J. Fluet and his wife Mary-Jo of Fitchburg, and Peter J. Fluet and his wife Melissa of Fitchburg; one daughter, Carol Olesen of New Ipswich, NH; four step-sons, Bruce S. Beaton of Hartford CT, Michael J. Beaton of Templeton, John C. Beaton and his wife Karen of Gardner, and Kevin M. Beaton and his wife Lisa of Gardner; one step-daughter, Mary Jane Beaton-Doyle and her husband Joshua of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Rene Fluet and his wife Frances and Donald Fluet and his wife Elaine all of Leominster; eight grandchildren, Jillian, Alexander, Rebecca, Julie, Samuel and Emily Fluet, Steven Olesen and Sarah Williams; eight step-grandchildren, Michael, Seth, Casey, Collins, Corey, Joshua and Callie Beaton and Iris Beaton-Doyle; one great-grandson, Daniel Olesen; one uncle, Emile Fluet and his wife Loretta of Fitchburg; one brother-in-law, Robert Archambeault of Virginia Beach, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was predeceased by one sister, Beatrice Archambeault and one grandson, Jacob M. Fluet who died in 1992.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

A calling hour in the funeral home will be Friday, May 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
