July 9, 1932 — February 20, 2021

Patricia “Pat” “Sister” A. (Mullins) Lajoie, 88, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, February 20, 2021, in the Caldwell Home, Fitchburg, after a long illness.

Born in Gardner on July 9, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Duke” and Pauline (Goderre) Mullins. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School with the Class of 1951. Pat was a cafeteria worker employed by the City of Gardner for more than 35-years prior to her retirement.

Pat was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She loved spending summers at Hampton Beach tanning and collecting sea glass from the ocean edge. She loved to cook, especially for her family—which was her everything. Pat was a role model for her family and lived by the motto “not goodbye, but see you later”. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she was always so proud of and relished in the opportunity she had to see them grow older and start their own families.

Pat is survived by three sons, Peter R. Lajoie of Gardner, Kenneth E. Lajoie and his wife Barbara of Sterling, and Timothy B. Lajoie and his wife Cynthia of Gardner; two daughters, Tricia A. Richard and her husband Jean of Gardner, Jacqueline M. Rouisse and her husband David of Westminster; ten grandchildren, Kristen Higgins, Bryan, Joseph, Stacey, and Stephen Lajoie, Leanne, Robert, and Kimberly Richard, Mikayla, and Zachary Rouisse; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kaleigh, Amelia, Victoria, James, Trevor, and Everett; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert R. Lajoie, who died in 2009; a sister, Virginia “GG” Vandesteen; four brothers, Robert, Miles “Skippy”, her twin Patrick “Peter”, and Phillip Mullins.
