Patricia A."Pat" Blake

Patricia C."Pat" Blake, 71, of 19 City Hall Ave., Gardner, and formerly of Sawyer St., E. Templeton, died Wednesday, July 23rd in St. Vincent's Hospital, Worcester following a brief illness, surrounded by her family.

Born in Gardner on March 11, 1937, she was the daughter of Walter J. Blake and Georgianna (Girouard) (Blake) Haines.

Pat was a secretary employed by H & R 1812 Mfg. Co. of Gardner for several years until retiring in 1999 and had also been a secretary/clerk at Heywood Hospital and C.H.Hartshorn Co, both of Gardner. She was a nurses' aide previously employed by Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner and was also a sales clerk employed by the former Rich's Department Store of Gardner.

She was a 1955 graduate of Templeton High School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and watching "Big Brother" on T.V. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1964 and received the Good Conduct Medal.

She leaves a son, Mark P. Blake and his wife Cindy of Westminster; 1 brother, Franklin "Del" Girouard and his wife Sue of Port Richey, FL; 2 sisters, Rita May Madden of Lompoc, CA, Elizabeth Meany and her husband John of Gardner; 3 beloved grandchildren, Ashley Marrama, Katie and Alyssa Blake; 2 aunts, Lorraine Ptasienski and Jean Pollastri, an uncle, James Girouard all of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and in particular her nephew Stephen Girouard and his wife Denise of Weaverville, NC and several cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Joan Jedlicka.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Rev. Andre Dargis, pastor of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.

A calling hour at the funeral home will be Saturday, July 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
