Omer J. Maillet, 85, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner.
Born in Gardner on September 18, 1933, he was the son of the late Adolph and Mary-Blanche (LeBlanc) Maillet.
Prior to retiring in 1992, Omer was employed as a custodian for Heywood Wakefield of Gardner for seven years. He was previously employed by L & Z Kammens Co., Inc. of Gardner for over 30 years.
Omer was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was also a member and one of the founders of the Metronome Club of Gardner.
Omer enjoyed woodworking, woodcarving and spending time with his family.
He leaves his brothers, Albert J. Maillet and his wife Helen of Gardner and Donald J. Maillet and his wife Patricia of Gardner; sister, Helen C. “Tiffy” Maillet of Gardner; special friend, Louise Case; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Omer was predeceased by his brothers, Able J. Maillet and Albanie Maillet; and sisters, Cecile M. Tarmasiewicz and Lauretta M. Maillet.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 5th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, December 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
