Olive F. (Bedard) Maillet, 96, of 1199 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg and formerly of 450 N. Main Street, Leominster, 194 Central Street, Gardner and 78 Pelley Street, Gardner died peacefully Thursday, October 7th in Fitchburg, following a brief illness.
Born in Fitchburg on April 10, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Wilbrod J. and Zoe (Bedard) Bedard.
Olive was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. She was also a member of the Two Hearts as One Square Dance Club.
Her hobbies included making crafts, traveling and collecting antiques. She enjoyed sewing, and designed her own clothes. Olive loved to play cards, and was an immaculate housekeeper and talented cook.
Olive was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, George J. Maillet who died January 15, 2000.
She leaves one sister-in-law Loretta Agnelli and her husband John of Gardner; one nieces, Bertha Burdett and her husband Elbert of Leominster; one great-niece Gale Burdett; three great-nephews, Thomas W. Sawyer, Michael Burdett and Russell Burdett and his wife Kathy; one great-great nephew, Gregory Burdett and one great-great niece Katie Burdett. She was predeceased by one brother, Wilbrod J. Bedard, Jr.; three sisters, Lena Sawyer, Lillian Bedard and Bertha Bedard and one nephew, James Sawyer.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 13th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fitchburg.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Wednesday, October 13th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
