Olive D. (Duquette) Carpenter, 96, of 51 Hospital Rd., Baldwinville, and formerly of 99 Elm St., Baldwinville, died peacefully Sunday, January 8th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville.
Born in Templeton on July 12, 1909, she was the daughter of William and Philomene (Bourgoin) Duquette.
She was a payroll supervisor employed by the former Temple-Stuart Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1974.
She was a 1927 graduate of Templeton High School.
Mrs. Carpenter was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, its Women's Guild and the Templeton Golden Agers. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, Boston Red Sox, participating in church functions and was very active in local social functions.
Her husband of 63 years, Arthur L. Carpenter died in 1993.
She leaves a sister, Genevieve Cummings of Winchendon; several nieces, nephews, cousins, several great nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces and nephews and one great-great-great niece. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Thomas and John Duquette and 5 sisters, Rosanna Monette, Albina Cutting, Mary Duquette, Madalyn Haarala and Claudia Major.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 13th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, January 13th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
