Normand D. Jalbert, 69, of 38 Main St., Gardner died unexpectedly Friday in his residence.
Born in St. Basil, NB, Canada on April 6, 1934, he was the son of Eddie and Anita (Martin) Jalbert.
He was a sander employed by Glenwood Kitchens of Templeton for several years until retiring in 1996. He was previously employed by the former Heywood Wakefield Co. of Gardner.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He was a member of the West End Beagle Club. He enjoyed hunting fishing, playing cribbage and bowling.
Besides his parents of St. Basil, NB, Canada, he leaves 2 sons, David Jalbert of Gardner, US Air Force Master Sergeant Daniel Jalbert of Rodenbach, Germany; 5 daughters, Denise Raisanen of Exeter, NH, Dorothy LeBlanc, Doreen Burgess, Donna O'Brien all of Gardner and Diane Vincent of Westminster; 10 brothers, Leonard, Barthy, Rino, Fernand, Martin, Bertrand and Richard Jalbert, all of Gardner, Armand of St. David, ME, Ronald of Baldwinville and Jacques of Winchendon; 3 sisters, Lorraine Bosse of Gardner, Germaine Clavet of Wallingford, CT and Pierrette Stiles of Ashburnham; 11 grandchildren, 1 uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Herve Jalbert of Canada.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.
Burial will be in St. Basil Cemetery, St. Basil, NB, Canada at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
