Norman G."Norm" Bourgeois

Norman G. "Norm" Bourgeois, 79, of 106 Corey Hill Road, Ashburnham died peacefully, Monday, March 3, 2014 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on August 22, 1934, he was the son of the late Tilmon and Eva (LeBlanc) Bourgeois.
Norman graduated from Fitchburg High School with the Class of 1953.
He was employed by Gardner State Hospital, Gardner as a Male Attendant for 35 years. He also was a van driver for the Ashburnham Council on Aging for 10 years.
Norman was a member of St. Denis Church of Ashburnham. He was also a member of the Turnpike Rod and Gun Club of Ashburnham and the Beagle Club of Gardner.
He enjoyed fishing, smoking his pipe, watching Western movies on television, was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Norman leaves his wife of 57 years, Esther H. (Holm) Bourgeois of Ashburnham; one son, Alan J. Bourgeois and his wife Dorothy "Rusty" of Winchendon; two daughters, Jeannine M. Forget and her husband Michael of Gardner and Patricia A. Chaves and her husband David of Gardner; one brother, Edgar Bourgeois and his wife Barbara of Baton Rouge, LA; one sister, Doris Mullins of Ashburnham; one daughter-in-law, Susan Bourgeois of Gardner; nine grandchildren, Shannon Ares, Michelle LaPointe, Renee Martin, Carley Bourgeois, Chelsea Bourgeois, Wendy Talbert, Danielle, Nicole and Steven Chaves; nine great-grandchildren, Elijah LaPointe, Olivia Martin, Isaac Martin, Connor Ares, Celia Ares, Brandon Ward, Bianca, Brianna and Alyssa Talbert; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sons, David R. Bourgeois and Glen J. Bourgeois; and by two sisters, Jeannette Janis and Rhea Bielek.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 8th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Dennis Church, 85 Main Street, Ashburnham. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery, Ashburnham, at a later date.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
