Norman J Bouchard

Norman J. Bouchard, 74, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, April 15, 2016 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave, Worcester, following a brief illness.
Born in Green River, N.B. Canada on February 6, 1942, he was the son of the late Edmond and Clara (Viel) Bouchard.
Norman was employed by Seaman Paper Company of Templeton as a maintenance worker for 20 years, retiring in 2005. He was previously employed by Kirk Eastern of Gardner for 20 years.
He was a United States Vietnam War-era Army Veteran and received the sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) Badge.
Norman was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
He was also a Third Degree Member Council #396 of the Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. Ovila Case Post 905 of Gardner, American Legion Post 129 of Gardner, Acadien Social Club of Gardner, Beagle Club of Gardner, Polish American Citizen Club of Gardner and the Deep Sea Club of Gardner.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and reading. Norman also enjoyed playing hockey, darts and pool.
Norman was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Alice M. (Hache) Bouchard who died March 18, 2012.
He leaves three sons, Brian J. Bouchard and his wife Kerri of Glen Burnie, MD, Roger J. Bouchard of Conroe, TX and Gary J. Bouchard and his wife Amanda of Fort Knox, KY; two brothers, Roger Bouchard and his wife Corinne of Gardner and Hermel Bouchard and his wife Anne of Gardner; five sisters, Norma Talbot of Gardner, Lorraine Bouchard of Gardner, Roseanne Richard and her husband Gordon of Gardner, Therese Allain of Gardner and Rachel Joiner and her husband Robert of Kingsman, AZ; six grandchildren, Danielle Bouchard, Tyler LeBlanc, Brianna Bouchard, Ethan Bouchard, Ryan Bouchard and Daniel Bouchard; one uncle Ronald Bouchard and his wife Alvine; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his fiancé, Sandra Rich of Gardner. He was predeceased by his son Paul N. Bouchard; five brothers, infant Normand, four year old Roland, Jean-Guy, Roland and Marcel Bouchard.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 23rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, April 23rd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
