Noreen M. (Mahon) Greenwood, 56, of Westminster, died peacefully Sunday, November 20, 2016 in her residence, surrounded by family, following a long illness.
Born in Attleboro on January 19, 1960, she was the daughter of Doris (Carey) Mahon
and the late Joseph P. Mahon.
Noreen graduated from Attleboro High School with the Class of 1978. She earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mass Bay Community College in 1980.
Noreen was employed in the office of Dr. Nancy Berube of Worcester and was responsible for Medical Billing and Coding. She was previously a pre-school teacher at Boston Children's School of Boston.
Noreen enjoyed crafts, shopping and traveling. She treasured spending time with her family.
She participated in several American Cancer Society 'Relays for Life' throughout Massachusetts, and was involved and volunteered at the "Livestrong Foundation" at the YMCA of Worcester.
Besides her mother, Doris (Carey) Mahon of Attleboro; Noreen leaves her husband of 18 years, Joseph P. Greenwood of Westminster; one stepson, Jeffrey Greenwood and his wife Katelyn of Leicester; one stepdaughter, Heather Jones and her husband Josh of Norfolk, MA; seven sisters, Mary-Eileen Tracey of Warwick, RI, Theresa Robbins of Attleboro, Beth Baker and her husband Tom of North Attleboro, Carol Collins of Nova Scotia, Annette Roskowski of Las Vegas, Janet Mahon of Seekonk, MA and Roberta Roy and her husband Eric of Rehoboth, MA; one grandson, Jack Jones; one aunt Agnes Webber-Medford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 1st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
